The Image of God

Genesis 1:26-27 Revised Standard Version (RSV)
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Note: the 'likeness' doesnt mean physical likeness but the form of human being made according to the will of God.The likeness of GOD Almighty is not the physical appearance, but rather having the knowledge of Good and evil.

"For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.
(From the NIV Bible, Genesis 3:5)"

"and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
(From the NIV Bible, Ephesians 4:24)"

"Then the LORD said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.
(From the NIV Bible, Exodus 7:1)"

"On that day the LORD will shield those who live in Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the Angel of the LORD going before them.
(From the NIV Bible, Zechariah 12:8)"

And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."
And He taught Adam the names - all of them. Then He showed them to the angels and said, "Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful."
They said, "Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise."
He said, "O Adam, inform them of their names." And when he had informed them of their names, He said, "Did I not tell you that I know the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth? And I know what you reveal and what you have concealed."
And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate before Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.
(Quran-2:30-34)

Psalm 89:6 King James Version (KJV)

Psalm 113:5-9 Revised Standard Version (RSV)
5 Who is like the Lord our God,
    who is seated on high,
6 who looks far down
upon the heavens and the earth?
7 He raises the poor from the dust,
and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
8 to make them sit with princes,
with the princes of his people.
9 He gives the barren woman a home,
making her the joyous mother of children.
Praise the Lord!

[He is] Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you from yourselves, mates, and among the cattle, mates; He multiplies you thereby. There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
(Quran-42:11)

God has no Form

Deuteronomy 4:15-20 Revised Standard Version (RSV)

15 “Therefore take good heed to yourselves. Since you saw no form on the day that the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire,
16 beware lest you act corruptly by making a graven image for yourselves, in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
17 the likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the air,
18 the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water under the earth.
19 And beware lest you lift up your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, you be drawn away and worship them and serve them, things which the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.
20 But the Lord has taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be a people of his own possession, as at this day.

John 14:8-9
8-Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”
9-Jesus replied, “Philip, I have been with you all this time, and still you do not know Me? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

If you don’t understand me (jesus) and my mission  so how supposed you understand God? ‘Seen’ in this contex is understanding not physically seen….so he’s not claiming himself as the father but what are we supposed to seen (understand) …the way to understand God is through Jesus becaused he was sent by God to give understanding about God upon Israelites..
Bible clearly state that God (Father) is unseen but Jesus physically seen by anyone during before he was ascend to heaven..

Genesis 33:9-11New International Version (NIV)
9 But Esau said, “I already have plenty, my brother. Keep what you have for yourself.”

10 “No, please!” said Jacob. “If I have found favor in your eyes, accept this gift from me. For to see your face is like seeing the face of God, now that you have received me favorably.
11 Please accept the present that was brought to you, for God has been gracious to me and I have all I need.” And because Jacob insisted, Esau accepted it.

God is Unseen

Matthew 6:18
so that your fasting will not be obvious to men, but only to YOUR FATHER, WHO IS UNSEEN. And your father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

John 6:46
not that anyone has seen the Father except the One who is from God; only He has seen the Father.

John 5:37 Revised Standard Version (RSV)
And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness to me. His voice you have never heard, his form you have never seen;

Romans 1:20 Revised Standard Version (RSV)
Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse;

1 Timothy 1:17  Revised Standard Version (RSV)
To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.[a] Amen.

Exodus 3:4-6 King James Version (KJV)
4 And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

Judges 13:21-23 New King James Version (NKJV)
21 When the Angel of the Lord appeared no more to Manoah and his wife, then Manoah knew that He was the Angel of the Lord.
22 And Manoah said to his wife, “We shall surely die, because we have seen God!”
23 But his wife said to him, “If the Lord had desired to kill us, He would not have accepted a burnt offering and a grain offering from our hands, nor would He have shown us all these things, nor would He have told us such things as these at this time.”

Note:Here they thought that they saw the face of GOD Almighty when they only saw His Angel.  Notice how they were scared that they were going to be doomed.

1 John 4:11-13 Revised Standard Version (RSV)
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No man has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
13 By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his own Spirit.

Vision comprehends Him not, and He comprehends (all) vision; and He is the Knower of subtleties, the Aware.
[ Quran-6:103]

Note: The size of God beyond our vision and comprehension. Every kind of pyhsical law and principal never work to reach understanding the true nature of God.

And it is not for any mortal that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a veil, or by sending a messenger and revealing by His permission what He pleases; surely He is High, Wise.
[Quran-42:51]

Deuteronomy 4:12 Revised Standard Version (RSV)
Then the Lord spoke to you out of the midst of the fire; you heard the sound of words, but saw no form; there was only a voice

And when Musa/Moses came at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said: My Lord! show me (Thyself), so that I may look upon Thee. He said: You cannot (bear to) see Me but look at the mountain, if it remains firm in its place, then will you see Me; but when his Lord manifested His glory to the mountain He made it crumble and Musa fell down in a swoon; then when he recovered, he said: Glory be to Thee, I turn to Thee, and I am the first of the believers.
