"And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him".(
Allah (God) clearly denied any kind of divinity upon the moon or anything else. God is the only one had divinity. Moon was nothing but the 'tool' to measuring time.
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the new moons. Say, "They are measurements of time for the people and for Hajj." And it is not righteousness to enter houses from the back, but righteousness is [in] one who fears Allah. And enter houses from their doors. And fear Allah that you may succeed.(Quran-2:189)
